My Favorite Whites: Regis & Kelly

Regis & Kelly came into my radar only recently. Albeit I’d heard of them for some time and am even aware that, at some point (I believe), there was another woman who sat in Kelly’s position, I never watched them.

Random photo after Googling "Blacks in Prison"My “it’s a black thang, you wouldn’t understand” wasn’t responsible my not watching Regis & Kelly.

Rather, it was more about masculinity and a rejection of watching television programs in the mornings because they were too close to soap operas.

Notwithstanding, it was after I started getting letters from my twin brother, who (at the time) was locked safely away in a penitentiary, when Regis and Kelly came into my prime awareness. More than Regis, though, it was primarily Kelly.

There seemed to be this penitentiary thing where the brothers in the day room would see who could successfully masturbate the hardest and longest when the Kelly Show came on. (See: prison masturbation, prison exhibitionism)

No "group masturbation" sessions or flagrant "exhibitionism" acts appears to be taking place in the random images captured above.

Braggishly, my brother claimed he’d won the battle round more than once. Ofcourse, A thorough investigation was due. Thus, I set my scopes on the show.

Kelly Ripa & Kathie Lee GiffordAccording to Wikipedia: Live with Regis and Kelly is a syndicated American television morning talk show, hosted by Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. Before 2000, the show was known as, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, with Kathie Lee Gifford co-hosting with Philbin. After Gifford left, it was Live with Regis, with only Philbin hosting before Ripa was added in 2001. (WDYK: by way of the quick Google search I just did on the Live with Regis Kelly show, I just learned Kathie Lee Gifford was the show’s female host before Kelly.

After watching it a couple of times, Kelly & Regis easily joined the list of my favorite whites.  I found Kelly’s “play dumb blonde” personality delightful.  I found Regis’ kind “know it all” personality equally as endearing.

Let's Go to PrisonAccording to Wikipedia, it was announced on January 16, 2007, that Live with Regis and Kelly has been renewed through the 2010-2011 season.[1] The show began broadcasting in high definition with the January 5, 2009 episode.

I wonder if brothers were equally as enthustic about the show when Kathie Lee hosted it…?
